One-off Christmas foodbank collection this Saturday

A special one-off collection in St Peter’s for Worcester Foodbank will be held this Saturday, November 28.

Residents are being encouraged to donate appropriate foodstuffs at 3pm on the day.

One of the organisers, St Peter’s parish councillor John Renshaw, said: “We’re hoping to cover the whole of St Peter’s for the first time so if anyone would like to get involved please get in touch with me, either on 07732 367600 or email

“This Christmas is going to be particularly tough for many who have lost their businesses and jobs in the last few months due to the coronavirus epidemic, so whether residents are able to donate one tin or a bag of groceries it will all be welcome.”

He added: “The street collections have been such a success that we’re hoping to run them next year once the worst of the winter and the dark evenings is behind us, especially as it looks as though the Foodbank will continue to see a rising number of Worcester residents needing its support.”
