Could church be a vaccination centre?

It is understood that St Peter’s Baptist Church is being considered as a coronavirus vaccination centre.

Following announcements of successful trials of various vaccines, centres up and down the country will need to be selected to supplement doctors’ surgeries delivery of vaccines as they start to be rolled out.

A spokesperson for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group said: “We do not yet have a vaccine or know exactly how the potential vaccines will need to be stored and distributed, so extensive planning is underway for a number of different scenarios locally as we await final decisions by regulators at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation.

“As a result, we’re not yet in a position to confirm plans but when the time comes the NHS will be ready to deliver vaccinations in every community.” It is understood that four potential vaccination centres across Worcestershire are under consideration.
