Green group Leader celebrates success in Battenhall and St Peter's in city elections

The Leader of the Green group on Worcester City Council has hailed his party’s victories in the St Peter’s and Battenhall wards in elections to the authority.

Louis Stephen, who represents Battenhall on the council, welcomed Tom Piotrowksi in joining him as a representative of the ward and Steve Cockeram, who won in St Peter’s.

Cllr Stephen said: “We have had two fantastic results.

“The result in St Peter’s was fantastic result for the Green Party.

“Local residents are, we believe, fed up with being taken for granted over many years and this result shows that there are no safe Conservative seats in Worcester, clearly reflected in the all year round campaigning and people who actually talk to residents, not just at election time but all year round.”

Talking about Battenhall, he said: “It’s an excellent result and for that we are grateful for Battenhall residents for putting their trust in me and Tom Piotrowski.

“Local residents know that they can contact us and that we will work hard for them.

“Our all year round work has now meant that Tom has been elected with a fantastic majority.”
