Teams challenged to run, row and ride to raise money for students

Teams are being challenged to see how far they can run, row and ride in two hours to raise funds for students of New College Worcester.

The college is staging the Mile Trials on Saturday, April 27 in its multi-purpose gym, with teams being invited to take part and generate sponsorship for their efforts.

There are prizes for the team which covers the longest distance.

NCW is a national residential school and college for young people aged 11 to 19 who are blind or visually impaired.

Kevin Hateley, head of fundraising at NCW, said: “It promises to be a really fun event and a great team builder.

“We'll provide everyone with a goody bag, kindly donated by Asda, Worcester, and everyone will receive a personalised completion certificate.

“All the sponsorship raised is so valuable and will help to transform young lives.

“For example, it could help pay for specialist equipment to enable students to prepare their own snacks and meals and live independently or could help pay for mobility training, ensuring students can travel safely and with confidence.”

There is a non-refundable registration fee of £15 per person plus a minimum sponsorship of £250 per team.
