Open evening to explain police career

Anyone interested in a career in policing can find out more during an open evening next week.

West Mercia Police is running the event at the police headquarters in Hindlip, near Worcester, on Tuesday (December 4). It runs from 7.30pm until 9pm.

People attending will be able to ask questions of police officers to find out about what the job is really like, while recruitment and other support teams will be available to answer process-related queries.

Martin Evans, Assistant Chief Constable for Local Policing, said: "Offering great staff benefits and career prospects, West Mercia Police has a strong family ethos.

“We pride ourselves on working closely together to get the job done and you will be treated as a valued member of the team from day one.

"Our policing area is increasingly diverse and it is vital that our workforce reflects our communities, so we particularly welcome women and people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds to join us."
