Route to station too dangerous

March 30 2020

As a fan of railways and a person who chooses not to drive,

I was pleased with the announcement of the pedestrian route (via Crookbarrow Way footbridge) to the new Worcestershire Parkway Station.

Sadly (and very disappointingly) this route is too dangerous for pedestrians:

Too many cars use it, many breaking the speed limit.

It’s not an option in the dark as two miles of it is unlit.

Worst of all, there’s a half-mile stretch (Woodbury Lane) of narrow twisty road with no pavements.

It would be great if something could be done to remedy this problem.

For many reasons, not least health benefits, the use of cars should be discouraged.
