Crossing was a scary experience
February 09 2021
I met my niece for a walk as we were in lockdown and could not meet indoors.
It was a lovely morning sunny but cold and frosty.
As part of the walk we went across the bridge over Crookbarrow Way.
Every part of it was covered in ice and so slippery.
The paths either side were fine. I managed to get across but it was so difficult as even the handrails were covered in ice. It was a very scary experience.
We made the decision to take a much longer route back to avoid going back over the bridge.
This involved crossing the main road where only half of the pedestrian crossing was operating.
I agree with the resident who referred to it as being like a skating rink, with no warning.
