Universal Credit event for Worcester landlords

With the arrival of Universal Credit in Worcester this week private landlords and their managing agents are being invited to find out more about how it will affect them and their tenants.

The city’s Guildhall is hosting an event this Thursday, October 18, the day after any new benefits claimants in Worcester, or existing claimants who change their details, will receive Universal Credit

It is the new national benefits system, replacing six existing welfare benefits.

It was introduced in Malvern in September and will be implemented in Evesham on November 14.

The event at the Guildhall for South Worcestershire landlords is being run by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and supported by the National Landlords Association (NLA).

Sessions are at 3.30pm and 6.30pm, with the content of both the same.

Landlords and agents can attend free of charge and there is no need to pre-book.
